Paralegal, Real Estate The candidate will contribute to a dynamic Real Estate practice group. Will manage land use planning projects, along with providing support on planning projects and traditional real estate transactions. Create and administer project timelines for real estate and land use planning projects, including tracking timelines, materials lists, deadlines, and proactively keeping parties appraised of upcoming tasks. Coordinate a variety of activities related to complex zoning, planning, development, and economic incentive matters throughout Indiana. Meet with clients; prepare filings, public notices, and supporting documents. Conduct due diligence reviews for real estate development projects, including reviewing comprehensive plans, zoning maps, and other municipal guidance documents to assess projects likelihood of success. Provide support to the attorneys in Real Estate practice group by gaining and utilizing general knowledge of the workings of local and state government to research and apply a variety of land use laws and regulations. Prepare, review, analyze, and organize documents for real estate transactions. Conduct title reviews and assist with closings, correspond with clients, title companies, surveyors, and city and county offices. Draft and record real estate documents. Work closely with attorneys and clients on a wide range of other matters. The candidate must have 2+ year or associates degree. A paralegal certificate and/or 4-year college degree is preferred. Have demonstrated experience with managing projects. 2-5 years of previous experience as a land use and/or real estate paraprofessional is a plus. Strong skills and experience managing projects, including utilizing proven methods and strategies for tracking projects from beginning to end, an energetic, organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined performer, with the willingness to work hard, an ability to work well independently and as part of a team, through effective communication and organizational strategies as well as capability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints, with competing and shifting priorities are essential. Must have knowledge and commitment of the utilization of technology. Have an aptitude to bill 1550 hours annually to meet the firms billing expectations for paraprofessionals.
