Paralegal (commercial transaction focus) Boston, MA 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants See who has hired for this role Apply Now Save Direct message the job poster from Christopher Holmes, CMA, CLM Christopher Holmes, CMA, CLM Professional Services CFO and COO Job Summary: As a Paralegal at Hackett Feinberg, you will contribute to the daily operations of the firm, providing an accurate and timely completion of assignments and inquiry responses and ensuring that all tasks and duties completed are done within the firm's set guidelines and policies. Your responsibilities will primarily be to provide paralegal and administrative support to a group of lawyers in our transaction practice. In addition, you will be expected to support the team by performing various office administration duties, backup for office receptionist, and other tasks or projects as needed. Responsibilities: Communicating with vendors, outside attorneys and clients, primarily by phone and email Respond to inquiries and requests Research corporate entity status in various jurisdictions Review and analyze documents and due diligence to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of lenders Analyze and evaluate title exams, commitments and policies for commercial real estate transactions and summarize findings for review by supervising attorney Research recorded transaction documents on various Registry of Deeds websites Request UCC, tax lien, litigation searches and other searches, and summarize findings for review by supervising attorney; prepare and file UCC financing statements in appropriate locations Prepare documents for attorney review in connection with transactions including Closing Agendas, and other ancillary loan and corporate documents related to commercial loan facilities, affordable housing transactions and real estate transactions Assist with loan closings Prepare and organize document binders and shared file sites for loan closings; post-closing due diligence Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; a Paralegal Certificate or higher education preferred 3-5 years relevant experience in commercial finance and development (preferably a law firm) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, pdf software and Outlook Proficiency using legal, USPTO and other government electronic filing systems Knowledge of Lexis/Westlaw, Lexis Practice Advantage and other data management applications Strong attention to detail and organized Ability to project a professional image and interact with clients and legal and professional staff Ability to research and analyze data Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills Capability to work well independently as well as in a team environment Provide excellent customer service, together with a professional phone manner Aptitude to be cautious with sensitive information Always willing to learn new skills and take the initiative to further understand processes and make recommendations for efficient changes Show less Employment type Full-time
