Responsibilities of Senior Patent Paralegal: The Senior Patent Paralegal will be responsible for the following: * Assist in prosecution of non-US patent applications from filing through issuance * Prepare, submit, and monitor PCT applications * Prepare convention and PCT national phase instructions and attend to formal requirements * Review and process inbound and outbound communications with foreign agents and clients * Advise patent practitioners, paralegal staff, and clients on rules and procedures for non-US jurisdictions * Manage client portfolios of various sizes, complexities, and technologies, including attending to docketed deadlines and maintenance of files * Communicate and coordinate with foreign agents, clients, vendors, and internal personnel * Prepare powers of attorney, assignments, and other formal papers; order various types of documents; and arrange for legalization of documents * Record ownership changes * Assist with firm and client projects * Report PTO activities to clients through preparation of letters and updates of databases * Provide quality control review of PCT filings, instructions to foreign agents, and documents * Mentor and train junior members of paralegal team Requirements for Senior Patent Paralegal: * Bachelor's degree or higher * 7+ years of PCT and non-US patent prosecution experience * Strong English written and oral communication skills * Excellent attention to detail * Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently and accurately in fast-paced environment * Ability to be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands * Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks * Ability to maintain large portfolios of cases * A strong drive and willingness to own projects and see them to completion * Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as needed * A collegial spirit with a willingness to train and be trained and take direction from others * A practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and IP-specific software is looking for a Senior Patent Paralegal to join their team.
