Global Business Immigration Paralegal Duties: Handles initial inquiries from clients, relocation companies, and attorneys for outbound global visa questions. Initiates global visa services by preparing and sending outbound questionnaires to client and visa beneficiary, and ensures billing set up for a new client. Interacts with client and visa beneficiary by email and phone to ensure timely completion of intake. Follows up on a weekly basis until receipt of all requested information. Creates and maintains document file during the intake process. Reviews file for completion prior to giving to attorney for visa assessment. Once attorney performs assessment, quotes fees to relocation companies and clients. Provides clients, relocation companies and visa beneficiaries with checklists, timelines, detailed visa process information, and ensures clear expectations are set and met. Conducts research to reconfirm requirements/process via phone and internet. Acts as immigration case manager during the lifetime of global visa applications, ensures that client expectations are met, and resolves any issues that may arise. Notifies attorney, relocation company and client if any out of scope services need to be provided. Obtains approval before proceeding with additional services. Work with paralegals to ensure completion of immigration paperwork for U.S. inbound cases. Performs initial review of immigration paperwork before attorney reviews. Creates and maintains records as required in online case management databases to include updating expiration dates, addresses, contact information and making written notes regarding phone calls or emails. Updates clients, visa beneficiaries and relocation companies throughout the lifetime of a case. Monitors expiration dates for compliance purposes and provides update to clients. Gives case to legal secretary to close after confirming all documents in the file are in order. Verifies fees on invoices and investigates any issues. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Business immigration paralegal experience is preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write letters of support and prepare other documents to confirm regulatory agency requirements. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Vision, and a document management system. Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize.
