Litigation Paralegal Duties: Create and edit a variety of legal documents; ensure content is free of typographical, grammatical, and formatting errors and ensure text is supported by citations to record and/or law as necessary; ensure citation form is compliant. Research legal issues and provides oral and written analysis. Maintain case files, including confidential documents files. Identify steps in litigation processes and occasionally calendar deadlines. Draft basic motions, notices and related documentation. Conduct discovery review and maintain document discovery logs in response to various subpoenas and document requests and handle written requests to opposing parties and responses. Schedule and participate in meetings with case teams to discuss litigation plans, prepare pre-trial plans, identify deadlines; anticipate case issues and coordinate with case team to confirm issues; consult with case team on legal issues for research as well as fact issues and witness identification; work with case team on motions and discovery plan. Arrange and attend depositions and meetings as requested by attorney; schedule hearings; identify and prepare exhibits and trial notebooks. Review records for privilege and prepare necessary privilege logs in support of responses to open record requests and discovery requests; organize responses to requests, redacting documents and otherwise preparing work product for delivery to requesting party. Review motions, notices, and briefs and prepare final version for filing. Support trial team in preparing for trial days and, on occasion, by attending trial. Attend weekly Group team meetings and use unique perspective improve the service we provide to clients. Qualifications: Paralegal Certificate obtained through either an American Bar Association approved paralegal studies program or an accredited institution. 2+ years of litigation experience at a civil litigation law firm preferred. Discovery and Trial experience preferred. Experience with business litigation is a bonus. Relevant State of Colorado experience in a paralegal capacity. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe software products. A lifelong learner who is eager and consistently expands their knowledge base. A hard worker who owns their work through completion. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully. Ability to think on your feet and quickly shift tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills. Motivated self-starter, ability to switch gears quickly and effectively, and must be detail oriented. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality. A can-do attitude, team player, friendly, positive attitude, and respectful person. A growth mindset. Ability to anticipate the needs and take action to support the attorneys. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys and clients. Have excellent client relations and communications management to effectively collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and others.
