Immigration Paralegal Assistant The candidate supports the delivery of quality legal services to clients by providing clerical assistance to attorneys, paralegals and practice assistants and working collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Essential Functions: Provide assistance to attorneys and paralegals. Responsible for creating and maintaining a high volume of electronic files. Responsible for preparing a high volume of immigration-related petitions for filing with U.S. government agencies including copying, scanning, and acco-fastening original documents. Responsible for creating and tracking a high volume of FedEx labels and preparing packages and saving the data in the electronic files. Responsible for arranging and tracking couriers. Gather and organize exhibits and cases and draft some forms and letters with heavy direction. Update Visatrax with client and case data. Print/save/organize case and client documents. Open a high volume of client matters and maintain organized files and electronic records. Requirements: 3+ years previous experience in an Administrative, Office Assistant or Legal Secretarial role. Ability to operate personal computer and other equipment in the office, including (but not limited to) multi-line phone system, fax machine, presentation equipment, copier and scanner. Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of basic legal terminology.
