Immigration Attorney The candidate will be performing intake and assessing matters for potential clients, identifying avenues to obtain or preserve lawful status and/or pursue relief from removal, including representation of criminal and/or detained noncitizens, as well as developing and implementing strategies to protect and defend immigrants before USCIS, DOS and litigation before the immigration courts, BIA and federal courts. Will be involved in community outreach, developing and presenting materials on immigration-related topics, including legal education, advocacy and policy reform. Should have Juris Doctor degree and current admission in good standing to a State Bar (Colorado Bar admission preferred). Must have 2 years of practicing immigration law. Should have strong experience in family-based immigration and removal defense (including representation of detained aliens, asylum seekers, crime and trafficking victims, juveniles), and/or immigration-related litigation. Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend Spanish. Excellent written/oral communication, analytical, organizational and time management skills are required. Should have the ability to develop and manage workflow, adapt to shifting demands, prioritize and meet deadlines, and manage client relations and expectations. Should effectively communicate, demonstrate teamwork and maintain positive work relationships with staff, community partners, clients/client family members, stakeholders, government officials and others in a responsive and professional manner. Immigration Paralegal Specialist

Immigration Paralegal Specialist The candidate will be responsible for carrying out administrative tasks and provide general support to the two staff attorneys in the immigration court context. Will start work on cases such as Asylum, Cancellation of Removal, Family-based, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, VAWA and U Visa cases by April 15, 2018. Calendar Court dates, internal and court imposed filing deadlines. Meet with court clients to receive and create documentary evidence in preparation for court submission. Perform background checks for clients, including FBI fingerprint requests, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Refugee Resettlement, and Customs and Border Protection. Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systems. Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Translate affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court. Prepare and File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court and/or opposing counsel. Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, faxing, scanning, opening and closing files. Should be English-Spanish bi-literate/bilingual with 2+ years of experience in carrying out administrative tasks and provide general support to the at least two staff attorneys in the immigration court context. Preference will be those who have worked with victims of crime. Proven working experience in the immigration field as a legal assistant, legal secretary and familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and the immigration court system is a must.
