Litigation Paralegal - Personal Injury Duties: Maintain accurate records and schedules; Litigation calendars, Deadlines, Depositions, Client spreadsheets, etc. Manage high-volume case load. Assist attorneys with Discovery, preparation of Complaints, or Mediation. Review relevant state laws on personal injury. Interview clients about their injuries, gather medical reports and insurance information from defendant. Review reports by witnesses or police, or make appointments for medical examinations. Communications: Ability to communicate orally and in writing with clients, opposing counsel and expert witnesses. Drafting: Be able to draft discovery responses and assert all necessary objections, draft medical summaries, draft settlement demands, prepare witness and exhibit lists, draft motions, final instructions, verdict forms, and be ready to tackle writing projects. Tasks include witness preparation and preparing voir dire outlines, opening and closing statements, and witness outlines. Determine exhibits to be used and prepare them for viewing. Assist attorney with entire voir dire process (e.g., taking notes, striking, and selection of jurors), pull and pass exhibits as needed, act a liaison to client, ensure attorney does not inadvertently waive an objection, communicate with bailiff or court reporter as necessary, bring witnesses into courtroom, rework exhibit binders as necessary, help attorney elicit key pieces of testimony, assist with all aspects of trial strategy and act as second set of eyes and ears. Receive mail and scan to appropriate record in case management system, keep accurate notes in cloud database. Assist other attorneys and staff as necessary. Reports to the Firm Administrator. Requirements: 2+ years of experience in personal injury litigation or liability insurance defense litigation in Georgia or Florida. Possess a friendly and inviting demeanor with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. Be able to quickly build rapport with clients and serve as client liaison. Be able to answer and handle incoming calls professionally and compassionately. Be a team player. Be a quick learner and able to multi-task. Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment. Be detail-oriented and a champion of accuracy. Be able to follow directions and show initiative to complete tasks. Possess excellent communication skills; including verbal, written, and listening. Be very organized and able to prioritize effectively. Exhibit excellent time management skills and be motivated. Possess proficient computer and typing skills A" MS Word, Excel, Gmail, LexisNexis, Internet, Case Management Software, etc. Bilingual candidates are a plus. (English/Spanish or English/Korean).
