The firm also has been criticized in many respects for its lack of diversity; however, we do not believe that this is a serious problem because the firm's recent hires have all been very diverse in our opinion. The firm also receives very high scores for the treatment of associates by partners and there does appear to be a very good relationship here between associates and partners with associates feeling they are part of the mix to a great degree and respected by partners. Most associates at this firm would much rather stay with the firm than switch firms. In our book this is a good sign.
Corporate Paralegal Assistant The candidate will assist paralegals, lawyers, and clients with a variety of low-level paralegal duties. Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality. Assist with maintaining minute books, corporate records; maintaining stock ledgers; option plan administration; "blue sky" research and state and federal filings; due diligence production and/or review; paralegals with closings on venture capital financing and merger and acquisition transactions. Draft miscellaneous transaction documents. Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters. Keep accurate time records. Prepare material for photocopying; material for in-house and outside distribution. Obtain factual information from clients and third parties, including governmental agencies. Keep track of case/matter deadlines. Perform computer database input and retrieval. The candidate must have a 4-year degree and 1 year of corporate experience; basic computer skills including Word and Excel required; familiarity with commonly used capitalization management tools such as Carta or Shareworks; ability to take initiative and to exercise discretion and independent judgment; familiarity with California and Delaware corporate law; organizational, analytical and communications skills a must; ability to establish effective working relationships with Firm lawyers and staff, client personnel, and other professionals; ability to handle multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist the team in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules; ability to conduct basic Company Internet Research; ability to access and understand the information contained on Secretary of State websites.
