Litigation Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Consistently provides friendly and helpful telephone support to assigned attorneys. Consistently and professionally communicates with clients, opposing counsel, vendors and firm personnel. Reviews and follows-up on client deadlines and calendar appointments. Coordinates and makes necessary arrangements for meetings. Assists assigned attorneys with presentations and training programs, other business development activities and organizing all other non-billable activities. Proofreads all documents independently and effectively to ensure accuracy and completeness. Accurately files court documents both electronically and in document form and able to determine and follow any local or judge specific requirements. Consistently completes assigned tasks as expected. Enters, reviews and revises timesheets accurately. Develops, implements and maintains systems to promote organization and efficiency. Qualifications: Must have 5+ years civil litigation secretarial experience in a fast paced work environment, together with strong calendaring skills and experience in both state and federal court filings. Maintains an exceptional client service attitude and professional demeanor at all times. Shows initiative, flexibility, resiliency and a willingness to adapt to change. Exhibits confident and professional verbal communication skills. Takes ownership and gets the job done without the need for prodding or supervision. Maintains a positive, A"can do attitude when dealing with clients, co-workers and attorneys. Contributes to an atmosphere of teamwork and congeniality. Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), DeskSite or other document management systems, time entry, CompuLaw, InterAction, e-filing and database software. Proven time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Solid organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. A high level of awareness and protection of confidential information. Demonstrates strong and accurate calendaring experience and ability to manage deadlines. Ability to draft correspondence, memoranda and other documents. Willing and capable to offer assistance to others when needed.
