Litigation Attorney The candidate will advise and represent US and foreign individuals and entities in connection with criminal, civil, and regulatory inquiries, investigations, proceedings, and settlement negotiations in the US, Latin America, and other jurisdictions. Should have a J.D. or Master of Laws degree, or foreign equivalent. Must have 3+ years of experience as an attorney: managing day-to-day relationships with clients (individuals and entities) or counsel based or operating in Brazil; conducting due diligence or other similar factual reviews and investigations on individuals or entities based or operating in Brazil; negotiating, drafting, and advising on the interpretation of contracts involving entities based or operating in Brazil; preparing senior attorneys, clients, experts, or witnesses for interviews, examinations, cross-examinations, or testimonies within the context of inquiries, investigations, or international arbitration proceedings having a nexus w Latin America; advocating before or against govt entities or officials in connection with inquiries, investigations, international arbitration proceedings having a nexus with Latin America; negotiating the resolution of inquiries, investigations, international arbitration proceedings or litigation with government entities or officials; and representing individuals or entities based or operating in Latin America in international arbitration proceedings. Should be fluent in written and spoken Portuguese, including legal and financial terminology. Significant international travel required. Must be licensed to practice law in New York.
