This mid-sized San Francisco firm is best known for its extremely solid litigation department; however, the firm's real estate practice, though lagging behind the litigation department, has expanded in recent years and currently represents some of the Bay Area's largest and most sophisticated companies. The firm also boasts a strong corporate department. According to the firm's recruiting coordinator, they look for "spirit and entrepreneurship" in attorney candidates. Salaries are competitive. Base compensation is targeted to 1850 hours and the firm awards bonuses (paid immediately upon reaching the bonus level) at 1950 hrs, 2100 hrs, 2250 hrs, and 2400 hrs. Pro bono work is approximately 5% of all work and most pro-bono time and certain levels of administrative time are credited to certain bonus levels.
Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will review property surveys, title commitments and exception documents, and negotiate title insurance coverage; prepare documents relating to a variety of real estate acquisition, loan and construction matters; prepare real estate transaction documents and escrow instructions, and manage closings; provide general assistance in real estate acquisition, lending, construction and leasing transactions; proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency; analyze and summarize leases, title encumbrances and other documents for review by attorneys and prepare basic entity formation documents, including filings and searches. Work closely with Shartsis Friese attorneys on a variety of day-to-day issues, and support a broad range of commercial transactions and projects. Should have experience.
