Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be drafting lawsuits, answering and propounding discovery, setting up depositions, and working with expert witnesses. Draft and file lawsuits and motions, answer and propound discovery, set up depositions, work and with expert witnesses. Docket/calendar dates and deadlines. Utilize case management software; data entry including placing notes into the firm's client management system; update case files. Develop positive relationships with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, opposing counsel, and the court. Independently manage all aspects of a personal injury caseload from beginning to end. Investigate facts and research legal issues. Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid, Tri-Care, and private insurance, as well as the ability to negotiate liens and third-party interests. Communicate with medical facilities/providers, provide/receive updates regarding client's attendance, treatment, and referrals or other special medical needs. Negotiate with insurance adjusters, outside counsel, and other parties to reach a fair settlement for clients within specified limits. Greet and assist onsite guests with a positive, helpful attitude, providing them a professional welcome, going above and beyond in the service approach. Provide general office support and assistance in completing miscellaneous projects as needed. Train new legal secretaries/receptionists, assistants, case managers and paralegals. Marketing opportunities to promote the law firm, build and maintain referrals; increase client intake by marketing with local medical/chiropractic and other industry related offices. Paralegal Certification or equivalent is required. Should have 2+ years experience.
