Bankruptcy Paralegal Duties: Prepare documents for bankruptcy stages. Prepare Motions, Objections, Proofs of Claim and Hearing Notices. Ability to perform basic calculations accurately. Run PACER searches. Updating clients and various computer systems. Complete assigned LandMark Tasks. Answer/return phone calls. Perform tasks as required/requested by paralegal leader. Track work prepared. Follow up on obtaining documents from client. Prepare status reports to client. Bill files. Prepare IOLTA requests.
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or paralegal certification is strongly preferred. Experience in a structured office environment is also preferred (with preference for experience in a law firm or real estate setting). Experience with Bankruptcy or collection law or an equivalent practice involving high file volume and significant telephone contact. Experience in a setting involving telephone contact is strongly preferred. Must be dependable, detail oriented and comfortable with a large workload. Able to prioritize and organize. Interested in learning new concepts and take initiative. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to work well with others and communicate with clients, etc. Knowledge of bankruptcy concepts is preferred. Microsoft Office Suite is helpful.
