Legal Secretary Litigation Duties: Draft, review and revise legal and non-legal documents including correspondence and pleadings; File documents with courts, including electronic filing; Calendaring litigation deadlines including but not limited to discovery deadlines, court hearings, depositions, and trials; Run conflicts checks and skip tracing reports; Work with file clerk to maintain all client files; Arrange for service of process; Intake and review incoming mail and route to attorneys; Prepare check requests; Answer phones professionally, and direct incoming calls; and Back up other staff as needed. Qualifications: Notary preferred; 5 + years of experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, and/or paralegal; Experience with Firm Central (a plus); Experience with current local, state and federal court filing procedures and requirements (necessary); Knowledge of word processing and computer applications including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional; An understanding of local rules of court, state and federal rules of civil procedure; Proficiency in pre- and post-judgment civil enforcement procedures (highly preferred); Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; Ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize and complete various tasks on time, with limited supervision and high attention to detail and accuracy; Motivation to see tasks through to completion without prompting; A desire to consistently produce a high-quality work product; and A sense of humor and a positive attitude that contributes to a pleasant team atmosphere.
