Associate Patent Attorney The candidate daily Tasks Include: Honing practice by following legal and practical developments in intellectual property law and clients industries. Conferring with inventors about their inventions. Counseling clients on strategies for how to protect their inventions. Preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Defending clients patents against third party challenges. Helping clients when third parties have misappropriated their intellectual property. Should have 3 years of practice in engineering disciplines to help continue providing clients with the highest levels of service. Must have BS in Physics or an Engineering discipline (EE, ME, CS, etc ) or industrial experience in an engineering field. Advance degrees and industrial working experience are both advantageous. A JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record is required. Must have admission to practice before the USPTO and either the New York or the California Bar association. Fluency in other languages is advantageous.
