Personal Injury - Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day casework. Will be handling all stages of a case, from pleadings to discovery to assisting attorneys preparing for trial. File complaints in all GA jurisdictions (including via mail and online filing systems such as Peachcourt, Odyssey, ECF/PACER). Arrange for and oversee personal service of filed complaints. File all litigation filings and documents into electronic litigation folders and case management system, maintain original hard copies of certain documents (original discovery, official deposition transcripts). Manage all aspects of Written Discovery responses and requests (documents, interrogatories) with attorney supervision. Coordinate with clients to prepare responses to written discovery requests, including getting pertinent information from clients, including treatment status, doctor appointment information, changes in medical care and/or work status, documents and records information, and the like. Schedule and arrange for court reporters to conduct depositions of clients, defendants, and fact witnesses; maintain a calendar of same. Prepare and draft subpoenas to third parties (e.g., witnesses, documents) such as cell phone companies. Assist supervising attorney with discovery disputes, motions to compel, and 6.4 dispute letters. Refer and identify legal issues to the appropriate attorney(s). Assist attorney(s) with trial and trial preparation, including preparing trial exhibit binders and coordinating witness (scheduling). Support Firm attorneys and staff with various duties for Personal Injury cases to facilitate and expedite service to Firm clients.
The candidate should have litigation experience. Specific experience working cases in a personal injury legal office is preferred. Strong time management skills required. Excellent organizational skills essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed. Data entry proficiency and computer skills Word, Excel, etc.
