International Patent Paralegal Responsibilities: Assist attorneys in the prosecution of foreign patent applications. Research foreign filing requirements including foreign novelty and/or disclosure requirements; foreign and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) office filing requirements; and formal document requirements. Prepare foreign patent filing cost estimates, including European patent validation costs. Prepare and file foreign filings, international applications under the PCT, and national phase filings from PCT applications. Prepare correspondence such as instruction, response, confirmation and reporting letters to foreign associates and/or clients. This includes filing instructions, formal document instructions, European grant letters, PCT client letters, and status reports. Prepare country-specific formal documents such as Power of Attorney and Assignment. Provide coverage for the International Patent Paralegal Department as requested. Conduct and participate in training as necessary. Other duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a paralegal certificate required. General knowledge of PCT and foreign patent practice. Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and iManage or similar document management system. Effective writing skills; excellent proofreading, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Effective verbal communication skills. Able to work with minimal supervision exercising good judgment and decision making. Able to analyze, organize and prioritize case information. Able to meet the Firm's billable hour requirement or value added equivalent. Must be efficient, accurate, flexible, timely and have excellent attention to detail. Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Team player and a positive attitude is a must. Must meet minimum testing requirements.
