Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice Legal Secretary/Assistant Duties: Prepare correspondence, legal memoranda, pleadings, and other documents in draft and final form from dictation, handwritten material and typed copy. Monitor, prioritize, organize, and facilitate daily workflow in order to meet project deadlines including scheduling meetings and depositions, coordinating travel arrangements and calendar management. Draft, process and serve legal documents; electronic filing of court documents. Preparation of document production (PDF combining, bate stamping); preparation of deposition and trial exhibits. Extensive client contact and interaction. Running conflicts checks and opening new matters, Creating, maintaining and managing case files, Time entry and monthly billing, Set up and maintenance of physical and electronic files.
Requirements: 5+ years experience in a law firm or legal setting. Strong computer skills, including experience with Windows 10, Office 2016, Juris, and Worldox preferred; extensive Word experience including the preparation of Table of Authorities & Table of Contents for briefs. Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Organized self-starter with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work well under pressure. Confidentiality a must.
