Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for the coordination of all the details during litigation including drafting/filing of Complaints, Summons, Motions, Pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, coordination of hearings and depositions, etc. therefore a clear understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedures and deadlines is required. Will be responsible for all scheduling, calendaring, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and judicial assistants on files. Will require clear and concise communication and writing skills, good time management, and the ability to prioritize. Draft pleadings and motions documents and file them with the court. Perform administrative duties ( coordinate/schedule/calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.). Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests. Gather relevant information from a variety of sources. Provide assistance with case settlements.
The candidate must have 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting. Should preferably have 2 years of Paralegal experience and 1 year of MS Office experience. Should preferably be an Associate. Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc. is essential. Must be highly organized with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail are needed. Microsoft Office 365 and MyCase experience a plus.
