Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Corporate, Probate and Estate Planning Duties: Perform legal and factual research. Complete case and file management of all cases assigned to paralegal, including, but not limited organizing and tracking case files. Perform records research through various websites including Texas Secretary of State. Organize and analyze information. Completes daily work assignments productively, in a timely manner with respect to deadlines, event dates, follow-ups, and within budged time allotted. Communicates with others involved on assigned files and works as a team so that complete and responsive client service is provided. Maintains routine contact with clients to ensure necessary information is received in an appropriate time frame. Reviewing, analyzing and summarizing legal documents, records and spreadsheets. Prepare written reports to clients and attorneys. Draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda. Assist attorneys with preparing various legal documents and correspondence. Prepare correspondence to clients, outside legal counsel, courts, mediators, witnesses, and experts. Assist attorneys with reviewing and editing drafted legal forms and documents for accuracy. Build and maintain databases, files and forms. Assist attorneys with preparing various probate pleadings and documents for filing with the court; preparing estate preparing estate planning documents, including, but not limited to obtaining information from clients; preparing corporate entity documents, including filing necessary papers with the Secretary of State. Completes other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability to multi-task within very short time frames under extreme pressure. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively. Excellent time management skills and the ability to develop and implement a list of priorities. Excellent computer skills, typing skills and a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm. Ability to analyze information and resolve issues. Must be a team player. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as analytical and critical thinking skills. Desired: Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associates degree or certificate program in paralegal studies required. 5+ year s legal experience. Must be proficient in word, outlook, excel and power point. Preferred experience in Timeslips AND required experience in Pacer and ProDoc efiling system. Preferred knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to areas of law. Familiar with the following areas of law: estate planning, corporate, probate, transactional law, and civil litigation.
