Patent Prosecution Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Support patent prosecution attorneys. Providing attorney support in a number of ways including: maintaining docket of due dates for USPTO and foreign filings and payments, etc.; preparing patent applications and all related patent documents throughout prosecution; proofreading and electronic filing of patent documents with the USPTO; preparing reporting communications regarding US and foreign prosecution to clients; entering time into a billing system; preparing monthly docket reports and detailed quarterly reports for clients; maintaining attorney and client electronic files; retrieving information from the USPTO website; and interacting effectively with other staff members as required in support of attorney and firm workload requirements. Candidate with Bachelor's degree is a plus. Must have 4+ years of patent prosecution experience (US, PCT and foreign) and a high school diploma or the equivalent. Must have experience with patent law and the procedures of the USPTO; PAIR and EFS-Web filing, and navigating websites such as EPO and WIPO. Experience with the CPI patent docketing software is a plus. Flexibility to occasionally work overtime is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure are required. Requires a unique individual who is able to navigate all facets of patent prosecution and is comfortable with using available resources when answers are unknown.
