Real Estate Paralegal Duties: Order and review title commitments, exception documents and surveys, interfacing directly with the title company and surveyor to resolve any issues or discrepancies, and obtain revised title commitments, title insurance proformas, and final surveys. Prepare first drafts of title and survey comment/ revision letters to the title companies and surveyors. Prepare first drafts of title objection letters. Prepare and administer contract critical dates, electronic calendaring, and closing checklists. Coordinate and assist with all aspects of closings including lease closings, including preparation of lease closing documents, conveyance documents, closing statements, and other closing documents. Attend all post-closing requirements, which will require you to prepare closing indices, prepare and organize closing binders, and monitor all post-closing deliveries and requirements Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memorandum Prepare initial draft document, amendments to agreements or leases and miscellaneous documents, including estoppel certificates, SNDAs and Memos of Lease for attorney review. Review organizational and authority documents.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate. 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. Law firm, practical business, and in-house experience will be considered. Significant title and survey experience, including review of title commitments and surveys, review and analysis of easements, declarations, REA's and other exception documents, and preparation and negotiation of title objection letters. An understanding of the standard title insurance endorsements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook or similar mail. calendar technology.. Legal research skills and knowledge of relevant databases. Strong writing, organizational and communication skills. Extensive knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and legal terminology.
