This large, rapidly growing, full-service law firm is making big strides in the global realm of telecommunications, e-commerce and dot coms in addition to having a very notable practice in international commerce, corporate and contract litigation. It is located in the Pacific Northwest with branches in the West and in Washington DC. Litigation Practice Assistant/Legal Secretary Duties: Provides legal and administrative support to two litigation attorneys and one bankruptcy attorney. Preparing and electronically filing pleadings with Oregon state, federal and bankruptcy courts, communicating with clients on behalf of the attorney, monitoring court deadlines, proofreading and formatting documents, processing attorney time entries and billing, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, processing expenses, and other administrative tasks.
Qualifications: 5+ years of experience providing administrative support in a litigation and/or bankruptcy practice. Experience filing documents electronically using Odyssey File & Serve and CM/ECF. Knowledge of rules in Oregon federal and state trial, bankruptcy and appellate courts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organization, grammar, and proofreading skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent internal and external client service skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to prioritize daily responsibilities and special projects and readjust as priorities change. Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a sometimes a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Ability to be flexible, take initiative, and follow-through with tasks.
