is looking for a Commercial Paralegal to join their team! This role will be responsible for providing legal support to attorneys and managing the department litigation calendar. The successful candidate will have a legal field certificate/2-year degree (experience may be substituted for education) and 2 years+ experience in civil litigation firm or in-house legal department. They must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a positive and professional attitude. The Commercial Paralegal will be responsible for assisting attorneys in preparing files, reviewing, drafting, filing, and serving legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence. They will also be responsible for managing the department litigation calendar by scheduling hearings and mediations; drafting legal services agreements and contracts with clients, and providing client updates when requested by clients or at the direction of manager or managing attorney. Other duties include following, creating and maintaining standard operating procedures, scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing, legal data entry, handling client inquiries, and extracting information from the firm's software to create reports or summaries for managing attorneys and or the Director of the Department. The successful candidate will have a strong customer service skills, be a self-starter and motivated, have a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to multitask, juggle multiple projects at once, prioritize deadlines and commitments, and communicate in an effective manner. The Commercial Paralegal will also have 50+ WPM typing skills, the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, and the ability to bend, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds. Knowledge of CLS collection software is a plus. This position requires up to 0-5% travel, excluding local commute.
