Legal Secretary Duties: Open and close matters. Create and edit documents. Convert PDFs to Word and reformat. Proofread documents for spelling, grammar and formatting. Prepare documents for efiling in New York, New Jersey and Federal courts. Prepare documents for manual filing with the courts. Assist attorneys with special projects. Copy, scan and fax documents. Prepare expense reports. Requirements: NY State notary a plus. 5+ years of legal experience. Knowledge of document management system. Experienced in voluminous document production. Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Proficient in Word including Styles and Track Changes. Excellent communications skills. Basic business writing skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong organization skills. Ability to multi-task. Knowledge of serving New York State Supreme courts documents. Ability to assist all attorneys in the group as needed. Ability to work overtime as needed.
