Legal Secretary The candidate's duties will include : Assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation from inception through discovery and trial. Document organization, examination, and management; deposition preparation and trial preparation. Assisting with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents including but not limited to pleadings, discovery demands and motions. Calendaring and follow-up with due dates, deadlines, reminders, and meetings. Proofreading and ensuring formatting, content consistency, and accuracy. Interacting with clients, court officials, opposing counsel, and experts. E-filing; Dictation. Various administrative tasks. Should have 1-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation in a similar role. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred. Must have knowledge of standard legal terminology and principles. Should have familiarity with New York rules of court and procedure, including ECF filings with New York and Federal courts.
