Part-Time Legal Nurse/Paralegal The candidate utilize nursing education and experience as guided by professional nursing standards and nursing license to review, analyze, and evaluate medical records and issues pertaining to the litigation process. The position also involves detailed research on pertinent standards of care, causation, and damage issues, the identification of appropriate medical experts, and the education of attorneys or others involved in the legal process on the medical facts, medical literature and/or other health-care issues related to the case or claim. Review, analyze, evaluate and summarize medical documents. Prepare a medical chronology of medical events and evaluate the relationship of those events to allegations. Conduct medical research concerning standards of care and regulations, and obtain medical literature pertinent to the allegations or issues. Provide information and/or educate attorneys or others involved in the legal process on medical facts and issues related to the case. Identify, locate, evaluate and confer with medical experts concerning health-related issues. Procure medical documents for evaluation of a claim. Assist in assessing issues of damages and causation relative to a claim. A B.S. in Nursing preferred. should have 5 years of clinical experience. should be Registered Nurse with solid clinical experience in a hospital-based setting. Must have strong organization, problem solving, analytical and research skills. should have ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information. General computer proficiency is required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have bility to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
