Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Provides administrative and secretarial support for attorneys and the administrator. Performs transcription/editing of documents and correspondence. Updates reporting and trial calendars, updates reporting spreadsheets. Reviews and proofreads documents for accuracy. Prepares legal documentation and formal correspondence of a legal nature. Prepares summonses, complaints, motions, briefs, and subpoenas. Assists with attorney billing and time entries as needed. Other duties as required or determined by a supervisor as needed. Requirements: High School diploma. Intermediate level secretarial position requiring relevant vocational training, 3+ years experience, or equivalent. Good organizational and communication skills, excellent grammar and spelling, intermediate to advanced computer software skills, typing of 65+ wpm, and other web-based computer skills. Ability to work overtime as needed; ability to work in a team environment. Dependable and professional in demeanor and appearance. Intermediate computer/word processing skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, knowledge of basic directory structures, on-line court sites, calendaring, spreadsheets, legal forms, formal correspondence, and internet applications. Must have basic knowledge of office machinery, including, copiers, scanners, transcription devices, fax machines, etc. Typing of 65wpm. This position requires sitting for long periods of time, up to the duration of a day.
