Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary The candidate will undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, while working under criminal defense attorneys. Communicate effectively with managing attorneys, clients and staff. Provide support for attorneys. Answer phone calls, take notes, messages and redirect phone calls when necessary. Maintain electronic and physical documents of case files. Arranging of legal paperwork. Typing correspondence. Transcribing legal documents. Scheduling, coordinating and confirming court date appearances, appointments, meetings. Maintain calendars and scheduling. Maintain a billing system and monthly billable hours reported to client. Filing court documents. Must have excellent communication skills and able to multi-task. Should have organizational skills and communication skills. Must be proficient in internet research.
