Salary Information Atkinson Andelson Loya Ruud & Romo offers a competitive salary for the Paralegal- Student Services and Disabilities position. Atkinson Andelson Loya Ruud & Romo is looking for a qualified Paralegal- Student Services and Disabilities to provide secretarial support to attorneys in the areas of writing, researching, and other special projects. This position is full-time, and offers a competitive salary. The Paralegal- Student Services and Disabilities will be responsible for: * Proactively working with assigned attorneys to seek out additional work, when necessary * Managing and assisting attorneys with document production * Preparing and revising legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and e-mails * Scheduling appointments and meetings for attorneys * Maintaining calendar for deadlines * Drafting simple pleadings and declarations * Proofreading prepared materials to ensure documents are free from errors * Assembling documents and exhibits for hearings and mediations * Reading and sorting incoming mail and printing e-mails * Maintaining client files * Arranging for attorney travel * Interacting with other support departments * Operating personal computer and other office machines Job Qualifications Atkinson Andelson Loya Ruud & Romo is looking for a Paralegal- Student Services and Disabilities with the following qualifications: * Must meet California Business & Professional Code 6450 requirements, bachelor s degree strongly preferred. * Bachelor s Degree, preferred * Ability to type 60 wpm * Prior paralegal experience in Education or Administrative Law preferred but not required * Knowledge and ability to calendar due dates for due process hearings * Knowledge and ability to calendar due dates for court actions * Knowledge of e-discovery case management * Ability to research and analyze large amounts of data * Ability to type, read, and write in order to proofread and perform initial input and revisions to legal documents * Knowledge of MS Office Suite which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and Adobe * Knowledge of document management systems such as iManage * Strong organizational skills * Exceptional interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a team environment * Courteous and friendly personality * Ability to operate office equipment * Stellar attendance and punctuality Physical Demand The employee will need to stand/walk frequently during their scheduled shift, have the ability to see and hear well enough to communicate with clients, co-workers and outside vendors, climb, stoop and kneel occasionally, use fine finger manipulation including writing, typing, and using the phone system, and be able to drive to/from outside meetings with clients, attorneys and vendors from time to time.
