Paralegal The candidate will be working with attorneys on all phases of litigation: including drafting pleadings (including Petitions, Answers, Affidavits, etc.), filing pleadings, preparing discovery responses, preparing document productions, preparing exhibits for depositions, hearings, motions, and more. Responsibilities: Assist with the drafting and reviewing of interrogatories and discovery. Record and store client information. Prepare cases for depositions, mediation and trial. Maintain electronic calendars for assigned attorneys. Scheduling of appointments, depositions, mediation and trials. E-filing on state and federal sites. Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systems. Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Gather affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court. File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel. Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions. 2 years of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful. Excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools. Knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources is required.
