Legal Secretary The candidate should have 5 years of experience as a secretary in a law firm and 2 years of experience in insurance services. Will be responsible for providing excellent client/customer service and will support more than one attorney. Applicants without experience as a legal secretary in a law firm will not be considered. Type, edit, e-File pleadings and compose correspondence, including letters, memoranda and other documents. Heavy scheduling for depositions, hearings, meetings, etc. Update and maintain databases (i.e., e-mail lists, I-Create information and client matter lists). Interact with clients, visitors and attorneys/staff from other Hinshaw offices. Open new files, check conflicts of interest, and maintain all client and general files. Make appointments and travel arrangements; maintain calendar and deadline reminder system. Assist billing department in processing monthly client invoices. Process vendor invoices for payment. Enter attorneys expenses. Maintain professional appearance and attitude; maintain good public relations and customer service with clients; maintain confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. Working knowledge and experience in e-filing in both state and federal court systems is required.
