Intellectual Property Legal Secretary The candidate will be supporting a patent attorney and handling administrative matters related to the preparation, filing and prosecution of U.S patent applications. Will be corresponding with clients, opening and maintaining files, and administrative matters related to preparation of opinions. Will be providing administrative support including scheduling meetings, responding to correspondence, and making travel arrangements.
Qualifications: 3+ years of experience with U.S. patent prosecution. Experienced with electronic filing at the USPTO, double docketing of incoming USPTO mail, and assisting a patent attorney with managing docketed deadlines. Requires knowledge of USPTO forms for filing of new applications, recording assignments, preparing and filing responses to Office Actions, etc. Litigation experience a plus. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to coordinate efforts between the Alexandria office and headquarters. Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, highly accurate, deadline-driven, have strong computer skills, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
