IP Paralegal Duties: Draft routine correspondence for reporting to clients. Prepare patent documents for filing with the US Patent & Trademark Office. Provide legal and non-legal administrative support to Legal Staff. Organize and maintain client files (electronic and physical files). Monitor docket on a daily basis and take proactive action relating to upcoming due dates. Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner. Proofread and edit various legal documents. Review incoming and outgoing correspondence. Demonstrate an understanding of patent laws and procedures. Retrieve information and documents from a variety of patent databases. Provide back-up support at reception when necessary. Assist with other tasks as requested by the Legal Support Staff Supervisor. Qualifications: Must have 2-3 years of patent prosecution experience required. Four-year college degree with minimum of cum laude designation. Possess a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. Proven reliability and accountability. Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Able to work in a team environment and be a mentor to others. Have a positive, proactive and professional attitude. Excellent interpersonal skills including good verbal skills and the ability to interact positively with colleagues at all levels within the firm. Highly proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, IPDAS, PDF, DMS and CPI. Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, including new technology.
