Class Action Paralegal Responsibilities: Provide paralegal support to several litigators. Provide assistance with hearing preparations, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, discovery and trials. Provide assistance with motions, briefs, memoranda, exhibits, and agreements. Assist with preparing Tables of Authorities, cite checking, Shepardizing, and formatting citations in accordance with the Blue Book. Provide assistance with electronically filing through PACER and other court websites. Perform e-filing, database management, docket management, including creating, organizing, tracking and maintaining files; monitoring calendars and meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file databases and case management software. Perform document management tasks including, but not limited to, review of documents, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses, pleadings, motions, etc. Review business records and prepare chronologies and fact memoranda. Draft correspondence and memoranda for attorneys as requested. Utilize computer databases to organize, store and access information; conduct moderately complex research on LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases.
Qualifications: A four year bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate required. 3+ years litigation experience. Strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local court rules, processes and filing requirements. Strong organizational skills, project management and technical skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to professionally interact with clients, attorneys, and staff is required. Proficient with Blue Book, Shepardizing, and performing legal and factual citation checks. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
