Legal Secretary / Assistant The candidate duties will include: Heavy transcription from dictation; Accurate time entry using Quickbooks; Preparation of legal documents, including pleadings and subpoenas; Electronic filing of documents with various courts; Drafting of correspondence to clients and opposing attorneys; Telephone contact with clients, court clerks and opposing attorneys; and Scheduling client appointments, depositions, and court hearings. Experience in Family Law is preferred. Must possess superior secretarial skills, including a typing speed of 60wpm or greater. Correct grammar, spelling and punctuation are an absolute must. Proofreading skills are essential, as are knowledge and spelling of legal terminology. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and be able to navigate the internet comfortably. Must also be able to work independently, with little supervision, and be very punctual and reliable.
