Handles incoming and outgoing information from variety of sources to include the US Postal System, express delivery services and the USPTO. Assists with docketing and maintaining information on electronic calendaring system. Interacts with clients and visitors; maintains good public relations with clients; observes confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. Works in close cooperation with all administrative departments within the Firm (word processing, receptionists, business office, etc.); proofs documents returned from word processing. Trains on and assists with preparing and filing trademark applications and other documents with the USPTO. Managing additional projects on an as needed basis for the department. Trains on and assists with preparing and filing patent applications and other documents with the USPTO. Requirements: Experience preparing and filing trademark applications and other documents with the USPTO preferred. Ability to read and write in order to proof and perform minor editing (e.g., punctuation, grammar, spelling) of routine law office correspondence and legal case matters. Perform non-complex arithmetic calculations when verifying calculations on forms and documents; maintain records and filing systems at a level normally acquired through completion of high school or equivalent. Must have ability to read, write and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.
