Practice Assistant (Legal Secretary) Responsibilities: Prepares legal documents and correspondence from draft or dictated text. Maintains client and firm files; opens and closes files according to Records Department procedures. Manages attorneys calendars, coordinates meetings, schedules conference rooms, and makes travel arrangements as required.. Assists with billing process to include entering attorney time, reviewing pro formas (initiates transfers), editing and preparing draft/final bills and cover letters for clients. Prepares forms for expense reports, check requests, reprographic services, etc. Opens, prioritizes and distributes mail. Coordinates mailings, deliveries, copying and courthouse filings.
Qualifications: Requires high school diploma or GED or and 3-5 years related legal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of litigation and financial services experience is preferred. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Chrome River, and Intapp (or other comparable time entry software). Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
