Paralegal/Office Manager Duties: Creating and editing various types of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and settlement forms; substantive legal research using the internet, Westlaw, and other legal authorities; E-filing using ProDoc website; managing client billing and tracking billable time; conducting potential new client interviews; preparing client intake documents; ordering and reviewing medical and billing records; drafting insurance demand letters; maintaining contact with clients; witness interviews and research; correspondence with court and opposing counsel; preparing attorney for mediations, hearings, depositions, and trials; ordering office supplies; managing accounts payable and accounts receivable; filing, both hard and electric documents; maintaining office calendars; and general office duties for the professional operation of a law firm. Will require the employee to complete both paralegal tasks/assignments as well as office manager duties. Work with a solo Attorney in a multi-office setting in area. General civil and business litigation practice, with a focus on plaintiff s work in personal injury and DTPA/consumer. Qualifications: Notary Public also preferred. 5+ years of substantive paralegal experience required. 5+ years of substantive experience is welcome. Any office management or administrative experience is welcome. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Should be highly proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and have adequate technology operation knowledge, with some basic math skills for bookkeeping/client accounts. Experience using PC Law or other legal office management programs are preferred. A paralegal license or CP certification are also ideal. Must be a highly motivated self-starter with ability to analyze problems and operate independently with substantial multitasking. Must be interested to expand their litigation and office management skills and help expand a practice. Will require substantial analytical and problem-solving skills.
