Paralegal Coordinator Duties: Work both as a billing Paralegal and assist firm management with administrative oversight of the Paralegal Department. manage all aspects of large scale, complex litigation within the General Litigation Practice group. In support of the management of the Paralegal Department, will work directly under the direction of the Paralegal Manager and will receive credit towards the firm s minimum billable requirement for Paralegals. Administratively manage all phases of litigation case. Manage electronic and hard copy documents through litigation technology. Legal and factual cite checking including the ability to shepardize and Blue Book a brief. Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements. Assist with witness preparation. Trial preparation and attendance. Supervise project assistants and temporary staff. Interface with Human Resources to process all necessary paperwork with regard to new hires, terminations and changes in status. Participate in the interview process and in the orientation of new hires. Monitor workflow regarding project assistants and collaborate with the manager on paralegal assignments. Participate in the annual paralegal review process, concentrating on project assistant reviews. Help staff emergency projects, arranging for the hiring of temps when needed. Participate in the planning of department events, and Assist the Paralegal Manager with other miscellaneous responsibilities and projects, as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university. Experience with litigation support software including Relativity, LiveNote, Concordance, IPRO, Trial Director and Adobe Full Version. Full understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, trial and appellate procedures. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and internet search engines for research purposes. Knowledge of Pacer and ECF filing procedures. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients, Partners, Associates, Paralegals and all staff members. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Preferred: 6-8 years of paralegal experience. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program. Proficient in litigation support software. Supervisory experience. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. The use of good judgment and good interpersonal communication skills. Well developed analytical and problem solving skills. Works harmoniously and effectively with others as part of a team. A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job. Exercises confidentiality and discretion. Strong proofreading skills.
