Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for litigation case set-up, filings, discovery, trial/mediation/arbitration and post-trial matters. Organize and manage a document collection, review and production with outside vendors. Assist with leading a trial team. Prepare initial drafts of Hart Scott Rodino (HSR) premerger notifications and report forms, conduct initial review of related documents. Track HSR developments and rule changes, prepare reports to communicate with practice group. Perform company and industry research related to M&A transactions. Manage complex files; review documents and organize relevance; assist with confidentiality and privilege reviews. Prepare witness files, assist with deposition preparation; assist in all aspects of trial preparation, arbitrations and mediations; attend trials. Participate in client interviews; oversee document productions; manage large numbers of documents as well as electronic data; understand and develop database structures for use in Relativity and other database applications; coordinate data processing with Electronic Discovery Services (EDS) Department and with outside vendors; work analytically; identify interrelationships among cases, statues, regulations and other legal authorities, cite-check legal memorandum and other legal documents; participate in training and mentoring initiatives. Act as back-up to other paralegals for specific case projects. Travel as needed. Other duties as requested by attorneys and manager. The candidate must have a Bachelors degree with solid academic credentials. Minimum 3 + years hands-on litigation paralegal experience in a legal or corporate environment is required. Solid computer skills; knowledge of and experience using MS Word, Outlook Calendar, Excel and Power Point are required. Progressive use of technology and technical tools including Relativity, Case Notebook, and Case Map is must. Knowledge and experience using PACER and CM/ECF is needed. Must have ability to take on more responsibilities and complete tasks that require proven skills; outstanding performance; lead role on case and project teams; demonstrated leadership and project management ability; anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment; attention to detail; strong organizing skills; ability to apply practice area concepts to appropriate tasks; ability to work independently and on a team; ability to prioritize and organize work, strong problem solving skills; excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be flexible to work overtime as needed, with ability to travel for extended period of times if necessary.
