Paralegal The candidate will draft and file collections Complaints and related documents in the New York and New Jersey Courts. Effectively manage outside process servers to ensure effective service under the laws and Court Rules in each matter. Prepare and file defaults and motions for default judgment in New York and New Jersey (including all affidavits, exhibits, and other components as required by the Rules of Court). Effectively engage in post-judgment collection activity including, garnishments, levies, and executions. Independently manage collections matters from start to finish with minimal oversight from the Collections Manager and General Counsel. Maintain accurate real-time status and updates of all matters they are handling. Support the attorneys and collections team in managing a large volume of collections litigations. Assist the attorneys with filing pleadings, briefs, motions, and exhibits in complex litigations and arbitrations. Communicate with debtors and opposing counsel with respect to open collections matters, including phone calls, e-mails, and formal demand letters. Should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to work independently and problem solve.
