Legal Secretary - Trial Duties: Provide day to day support to attorneys including preparation of documents for state and federal court filings, discovery, arbitration, mediation, and hearings. Exercise excellent judgment to determine priority level of work assigned daily; assure high priority items are completed in a timely manner. Complete federal and state court e-filing procedures utilizing Pacer or other court site portals. Create and revise documents, spreadsheets and forms from drafts, originals or dictation. Proofread material to ensure high quality product. Assist other legal secretaries with work overflow when necessary. Maintain schedules and calendars, input time entries using Elite software; process and review work group mail. Organize and coordinate meetings, conferences, and make travel itineraries; answer and screen telephone calls for work group. Prepare and submit conflict check forms, screening forms and new matter request forms through NBI process. Assist with special projects and work with other support staff in performing any duty essential to the achievement of efficient operations. May be requested to perform other duties not mentioned above. Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 2+ years of legal secretary experience or vocational education. Accurate typing skills of 50 wpm. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Strong customer service focus and skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and perform well in stressful situations. Ability to use good judgement in solving problems and resolving conflict. Flexibility with schedule (overtime may be required). Excellent attendance. Experience with electronic court filing programs, CompuLaw, Microsoft Word, timekeeping and document management software (preferred).
