Paralegal/Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Accurately Drafting Petitions, Answers, Discovery, Motions, Demands, and other legal documents as needed. Prepare cases for the litigation process, such as scheduling deadlines, hearing, and trial dates. Calendaring hearing, depositions and mediations. File the appropriate documents with the court and serve the opposing parties. Assist the attorney with case management and trial as needed. Continually communicate and comfortable speaking with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts and mediators. Sorting, scanning, renaming, saving and distributing litigation mail and faxes. Audit cases for all expenses (medical bills, case expenses, LOP providers, subro liens). Negotiate with providers and lien holders to dispute charges or obtain reduction. Accurately maintain case management data in Salesforce (case management database). Prepare trial documents and assist with trial preparation. Qualifications: Proficient in personal injury law involving motor vehicle accidents. Proficient in preparing discovery responses. Know how to e-file and e-serve documents. Know how to request and order medical records and affidavits. Professional appearance, behavior, and confident. Working knowledge of common deadlines and protocols of personal injury litigation. Available to work 40+ hours per week. Paralegal certificate highly preferred. Litigation experience 3-5 years (Required). Personal injury experience 2-3 years (Required). Excellent with written and verbal communication. Efficient and effective with overall time management. Determined to learn and adapt in a high paced atmosphere. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Bilingual preferred but not required (English & Spanish).
