Legal Assistant / Paralegal Duties: Support and manage document productions. Management of attorney calendars in electronic system. Subpoena medical records. Assisting in trial preparation, including creating binders and pretrial documents. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred and Paralegal Certificate required. 5 years experience in civil litigation. Must have thorough knowledge of rules and procedures of court for both Federal Courts and California Superior Courts. Proficiency with court filings with both State and Federal courts (manual and electronic filing). Understanding of every stage of case management, from inception to trial/settlement to post-trial/post-settlement. Must be able to prepare, format, & edit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence (including TOA/TOC). Ability to multi-task and complete assignments quickly and accurately to meet demanding deadlines. Managing documents in firm software (Imanage). Ability to take initiative, be resourceful and anticipate needs of attorneys. Attention to detail is an absolute requirement. Excellent written & oral communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills A A?you must be able to communicate and interact with clients, court staff, and other third parties on behalf of the firm in a professional and courteous manner. Must be a team player and have the ability to work effectively and courteously with your co-workers, especially in times of stress. Proficiency with Word 2010, Adobe and Outlook is a must. Experience with document management system preferred. Imanage and Prolaw experience a plus.
