This small DC office, whose most remarkable practice areas are in healthcare and litigation, offer paternity leave, domestic partner benefits and pro bono opportunities. The pay might be a bit below scale, but look for leanly staffed cases, good work, and a congenial atmosphere.
Fiduciary Administrator (Private Client Services Paralegal) Duties: Marshaling and liquidating estate assets. Preparing federal/state estate tax returns. Preparing and filing probate and administration documents in Surrogate's Court. Assisting in obtaining asset valuations. Reviewing accountings. Preparing cash reconciliations and proposed asset distributions. Coordinating administration matters with clients and advisors. Collecting decedents assets and arranging for appraisals of real and personal property. Qualifications: Either J.D. or Bachelor's degree combined with 3+ years law firm trusts and estates experience, preferably at a large law firm administering estates of high-net-worth clients. Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills are a must. Outstanding attention to detail. Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions, and deliver results. Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, as well as the ability to learn new software and applications.
