Legal Secretary The candidate will be engaged in the work of the attorney by demonstrating knowledge and status of current cases and projects, utilizing available resources. Provide support to multiple attorneys in employment law matters and backup support as needed. Act as liaison between internal departments and outside agencies as needed. Preparation/revision of expense reports, correspondence, templates, pleadings, documents, engagement letters and other administrative assignments as directed. Handle electronic case filings in both federal and state courts. Run conflict checks and open new client engagements as requested. Maintain calendars, CLE, reports, and time records. Book and organize travel arrangements including flights, hotels, and transportation, make changes to reservations as needed. Keep abreast of deadlines and docketed matters for assigned litigation attorneys. Schedule depositions and other meetings as needed. Various office and client filing; proofreading documents. Handle a wide variety of complex and confidential time-sensitive material. Provide general office administrative support and backup other legal secretaries during their absence(s) from the office. A High School diploma or equivalent required. should preferably have 4-year college degree. Must have 3-5 years recent legal secretarial experience within a law firm. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity of technical legal terminology. Familiarity with opening legal matters (conflict checks, etc). Experience with e-filing in both federal and state courts. Experience with filings in the EEOC and state agencies a strong plus. Experience working with document management software such as Netdocs. Experience working with expense/travel software such as Concur a strong plus. Knowledge of state and federal rules and procedures a strong plus. Experience with trial preparation and briefs a strong plus. Must be reliable, punctual with strong attendance. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills. Ability to multi-task, and timely respond to deadlines as well as balance workload. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in cooperative, small office environment and communicate with attorneys and support staff on every level.
