Estate Administration Paralegal/Assistant The candidate will be someone who can, with direction, take responsibility and help the attorney get a file from opening to completion. Would include drafting documents/correspondence, review of incoming information, investigative tasks, completion of forms, etc. Word will be used for preparation of correspondence, e-mails, legal documents, and completion of forms. Will include: sorting mail; telephone answering; faxing; e-mailing; investigation to determine and locate assets and debts; filing; opening both electronic and hard copy files; and boxing (closing) of files. Candidate would also have legal experience or training, familiarity with AOC forms and be a notary public. Candidate will have the ability to communicate with clients, creditors, family members, other law offices and court personnel. Must understand and respect not only the privacy of an individual, but understand and implement nondisclosure of personal information and attorney-client privileged information. Microsoft Office Suite experience is required. Must have a thorough working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel; as well as QuickBooks. Should have the ability to review a file's contents and identify the information necessary to complete forms and templates. Much of court tracking, in-house follow up is kept in excel spreadsheets. Must be comfortable with both informational and numerical spreadsheets. Minimal bookkeeping skills are necessary; financial information is contained in QuickBooks. Calendar maintenance along with an ability to meet court and client deadlines is essential. Must have the ability to follow through on assigned tasks and to follow procedures to track process of cases.
