Litigation Paralegal Duties: Support litigation practices. Assist with all facets of our litigation practice areas including civil litigation defense, appellate and multi-jurisdictional litigation. Interpret rules of civil procedure and local rules in state and federal court. Qualifications: Paralegal Degree or Certificate. 2-3 years of legal experience, good organizational skills, and an understanding of civil litigation. Experience with appropriate process service procedure for Complaints and Subpoenas. Familiarity with state and federal rules of appellate procedure. Ability to docket/calendar case deadlines. E-filing in state and federal courts (ICCES and CM/ECF). Format appellate briefs (Table of Contents, Table of Authorities). Ability to prepare disclosure statements and discovery responses. Ability to draft various motions, proposed orders and summons. Experience with Adobe Professional (bates numbering, headers/footers, redaction, etc.). Ability to communicate effectively with clients, experts, business vendors, attorneys and staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (grammar & spelling). Good interpersonal skills with a can-do A? work ethic. Attention to detail. Good organization. Ability to work independently. Preferred skills: Cite-check and pin cite briefs (i.e., Bluebooking). Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to prepare medical chronologies. Document management experience (Worldox preferred but not required). excellent written skills, oral communication, and prioritization skills.
